  • Build the set chapter by chapter with an energy arc: chapters of 3 to 20 tracks, with Auto-fill and Magic sort.
  • Transitions that clash are flagged before you play them. The timeline marks each one smooth mix, mix with care or clash.
  • Click a track to see what mixes well after it, and why.
  • Works with rekordbox, Serato, Traktor and VirtualDJ. Engine DJ and Apple Music are read-only.
  • BPM, Camelot key, energy and mood are worked out on your own computer. Your music files are never changed.

How it works

  1. Add your music. Click Add music folder, or connect rekordbox, Serato, Traktor, VirtualDJ, Engine DJ or Apple Music. Setarc keeps links to your files and never copies or changes them.
  2. Let it analyse. BPM, Camelot key, energy, danceability and mood, worked out on your computer. Energy and mood are estimates.
  3. Plan the set. Make chapters (Opening, Build, Peak, and so on), set each chapter's energy, and let Auto-fill and Magic sort fill them from your library. The timeline flags clashing transitions.
  4. Play it in your DJ software. Send the set to Serato, Traktor or VirtualDJ, or to rekordbox through an XML file you pick once in rekordbox.

FAQ

How do I install it on Windows?

Download the Installer-only zip from your Gumroad Library, open it and run the Setarc-Setup file. Setarc isn't code-signed yet, so Windows may say "Windows protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway. Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.

And on a Mac?

macOS 13 Ventura or later, Apple silicon or Intel (download the matching zip). Setarc isn't signed with an Apple Developer ID yet, so macOS stops each new version once. On macOS 15 or later: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway. On macOS 13 or 14: Control-click Setarc in Applications and choose Open, then click Open again.

What's checked and what isn't?

Setarc is at version 0.9.9. The app isn't code-signed on Windows or Mac yet (see above). BPM and key come from analysing the audio. Energy, danceability and mood are estimates. Engine DJ and Apple Music libraries are read-only. Setarc never changes your music files.

What does Setarc send over the internet?

Your music is analysed on your computer and never uploaded. Setarc contacts Gumroad to check your licence key (about once a day when you're online). If you turn on Ask AI with your own Anthropic key, it sends track details to Anthropic, never your music files, file names or folders. Nothing else is sent.

Do I need Setarc for Windows and Mac, or Setarc for Mac?

Either works. It's the same Setarc, and a key from either one activates it on Windows and on a Mac.

What changed recently?
  • 0.9.9 (18 Oct 2026): keys from both Setarc products work, on Windows and Mac.
  • 0.9.8 (17 Oct 2026): AIFF and Apple Lossless files are analysed.
  • 0.9.7 (16 Oct 2026): Setarc runs on a Mac (macOS 13 or later).
  • 0.9.6 (15 Oct 2026): Setarc is sold through Gumroad. Keys come in the receipt email.
